We are looking for someone to be 1/3 tractor driver, 2/3 workshop/ packhouse manager.

The tractor driver part will mainly consist of operating a 2 bed tillerstar destoner in the spring, some help with irrigation during the summer and possibly driving the potato harvester, as well as autumn / spring cultivation.

We plan to re-organise our farm workshop with a view to taking on maintenance and fabrication work as we have done in the past. Candidates should have enough experience to work methodically and keep records upto date.

We pack potatoes from mid-May-Christmas, normally this amounts to grading for a few hours most weekdays, depending on orders. Candidates would need to be confident to lead a small team, balancing harvesting and grading with sales. Also looking after the line, consisting of self- unloading trailers, optical sorter, grading screen, automated sack placing/ weighing/ stitching and stacking equipment.

As we sell our 1500t crop over such a long period we don't normally harvest or grade potatoes over the weekend although we do have to run the planter and irrigation over the weekend when we are busy.
