Organic & Regenerative Mixed Farm

Salary: £30,000 £34,000 p.a. (Competitive package including 3-bedroom accommodation)

Due to forthcoming retirement of two long standing members of the team, we are recruiting for experienced tractor driver/s with strong arable, mechanical and workshop skills. This varied role offers opportunities to collaborate with our wider livestock and estate teams.

Balcaskie is a modern, forward-thinking estate at the heart of the East Neuk of Fife. Operating with a strong foundation in organic and regenerative practices, we manage 200 hectares of combinable crops including milling wheat, rye, oats, barley and beans, 400 suckler cows, 1,600 ewes, a small herd of outdoor sows while maintaining the fabric of the 2000 Ha diversified estate.

The Role

Your primary focus will be the continuous improvement of our arable cropping, primarily for human consumption, within an organic system. Taking the lead role for all cultivations, planting, harvest and storage. In addition, the routine feeding/bedding of stock over winter, workshop fabrication/maintenance and construction projects will be varied and rewarding.

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent mechanical ability and maintenance standards

• Solid technical skills and willingness to develop further

• Experience with ploughing, cultivations, planting, harvesting

• Strong team-working ethics and collaborative mindset

• Energy, drive, and practical problem-solving abilities

• An interest in livestock and mixed farming
