Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tractorman and Sprayer Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working as part of a team and operating various modern farm machinery.

The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in Soft Fruit, Arable, and Cattle work. It is essential that the candidate has a flexible approach to varied duties and wants to work with cattle.

Responsibilities

- Operate tractors, telehandlers, and other modern farm machinery.

- Operate variable geometry Soft Fruit Sprayers and Arable Boom Sprayers accurately to apply fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, or other treatments as required.

- Maintaining accurate spraying record management and fertiliser records.

- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on spraying machinery using hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment repair techniques.

- Perform heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or materials safely during daily operations.

- Follow safety protocols strictly when handling chemicals and operating machinery to prevent accidents or contamination.

- Support animal care activities as needed within the horticultural environment.

Essential Skills

- Full driving license

- Sprayer Operator Certificate

- PA1 ( Safe Use of Pesticides), PA2 (Self Propelled, Mounted, Trailed Horizontal Boom Sprayers), PA3 (Variable Geometry)

- Interest in working with cattle

- Basic mathematical skills for measuring chemicals and calibrating sprayers accurately.

- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of standing or walking during work shifts.

Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of irrigation systems.

- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to repair and maintain equipment effectively.

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.

- Experience with cattle is advantageous but not essential.
