Cornwall ambitious, energetic, enthusiastic and conscientious person required for a 450 cow, Autumn calving herd, to work as part of a team on a progressive family farm, with high standards of welfare and husbandry. Ability to work on own initiative, and willingness to learn new skills required. Good tractor skills would be required and a good foundation of stockmanship and calf rearing experience would be an advantage.
48/96 Herringbone parlour, good handling facilities and infrastructure are in place as the emphasis is milk from grazed grass and forage crops. We prioritise grassland management, and the successful candidate will be involving in feeding cows and young stock.
Duties include, General Farm maintenance, Fencing, Tractor driving, working with youngstock, including rearing calves, some milking.
This opportunity will allow the successful individual to develop their skills in the dairy industry via ongoing training. A competitive package is offered with regular time off and holidays. We aim to have all work finished by 5.30pm except during calving time.
