Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic stockman to join our team. This is an important role managing the health and welfare of a diverse livestock enterprise, including 200 dairy cows (plus youngstock), 120 head of dairy beef, and a flock of 250 ewes across 1500 acres.

The role would include responsibilities for cattle husbandry, calf rearing, sheep management, feeding & bedding as well as pasture management. The farm also has 700 acres of arable ground. Some harvest help would be included.

Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial. A keen eye for animal health, calmness in handling stock and proficiency in operating farm machinery (feeder wagon, topping, telehandlers etc) are essential skills required.

We are looking for a reliable and proactive worker who can work and communicate effectively as part of a team and be able to work independently. The business is split over 3 farms and various smaller blocks all within a 4 mile radius.

The standard working week is 48 hours, with every other weekend off. There will be opportunity for overtime hours.

Starting salary of £31,000 plus overtime.

Three bedroom, centrally heated cottage available for the right candidate.
