Mixed farm work on a small scale, mainly organic, in a beautiful location. Currently 40 acres but due to acquire an additional 48 acres.
We are looking for an energetic and reliable person who is confident with full sole charge responsibilities for the farm but can also work with contractors and apprentice support when needed.
Minimum stay 12 months, preferably long-term.
You MUST have:
- the right to work in the UK
- a clean driving licence
- relevant experience, qualifications and references.
Essential skills and duties
- full care and management of sheep (black Welsh Mountain - a small flock that we aim to grow to max 90/100) including breeding, lambing, vaccinating etc
- care and management of 3 pigs (non-breeding); 10 free range laying hens
- management of pasture and woodland including topping, muck spreading, making hay, fencing
- general estate support

1-bedroom newly refurbished stone cottage can be provided, with utility bills included. Please note the cottage is small and close to the farmhouse.
We cannot accept children or other dependants living with you, sorry. A partner would be OK, but due to the size of the cottage we think it is better suited to a single person.
