Full-Time Poultry Foreperson Required

We are seeking a full-time Poultry Foreperson for our 28,000-bird free-range egg farm, featuring recently built, state-of-the-art facilities.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading industry professionals, gaining valuable knowledge and insight into an often-overlooked area of agricultural careers. You will lead a dedicated team, ensure the health and welfare of our birds, and keep production running smoothly. Your leadership will directly influence product quality, livestock wellbeing, and overall farm efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day poultry farm operations, ensuring all welfare, hygiene, and biosecurity standards are met

Lead, train, and motivate a team of farm workers to achieve production targets and maintain high standards

Monitor bird health, feed, and water systems, taking swift action to address any issues

Maintain accurate records on flock performance, mortality, feed usage, and environmental conditions

Coordinate with senior management on production planning, maintenance schedules, and supply requirements

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

Candidate Requirements:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team

A willingness to learn and develop an understanding of poultry welfare, biosecurity, and farm safety protocols

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions

Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, resources, and reporting effectively

A hands-on, proactive approach and a strong work ethic

Desirable (but not essential):

Previous experience in poultry or livestock farming

Basic mechanical or maintenance skills

Relevant agricultural qualifications
