Experienced herdsperson required to join existing team looking after 600 high yielding pedigree Holstein cows,calving AYR on Cornish costal mixed farm (close to Plymouth) farming over 2000 acres .

The role requires someone who has good organisation and a willingness to work as senior member of the milking team and working alongside the assistant herdsman and the relief milking crew, on a shared rota. Milking twice a day on a well-invested, recently updated Dairy-master 26/52 herringbone parlour with teat brush, ACRs, auto ID , Heat detection collars and drafting gate and in parlour feeding.

You will also work closely with assistant Herdsman, together ensuring the cows are kept happy, healthy and productive . Weekly tasks include record keeping, drying off , foot trimming etc, as well as the ability to AI and keen interest genetics and breeding .

We are looking for someone that has passion for what you do and for the care and welfare of our cows and as well as experience in the industry .

This role is full time, hours can be flexible to suit you and the existing team to ensure everyone gets regular time off.
