Arable
UK
NR16
East & East Anglia
Description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join us for harvest on a 2,000 acre arable farm based in South Norfolk. We grow wheat, barley, rapeseed, and sugar beet. We also buy and sell straw.

The Harvest Skilled Arable Operator is part of a small team of permanent and seasonal staff. The candidate will be responsible for corn carting and loading. Other responsibilities may include helping with straw contracting activities, hedge cutting, cultivations and other regular tasks, including machinery and other estate maintenance, as required.

Our operation requires that the jobholder be flexible, self-motivated and prepared to put in regular overtime during our busiest period. Good hands on workshop/maintenance skills are essential, as is the ability to work alone or in a team. Experience as a tractor driver (or equivalent arable/livestock machinery operative) is essential. The jobholder must hold a valid driving licence. Experience of large square baling work, operating a tractor mounted hedge cutter and cultivation equipment is desirable but full training will be given.

We offer competitive rates of pay based on experience. Good overtime and development opportunities are available for the right candidate. We run a mix of machinery ages and marques, with most work carried out using Fendt 724s and Massey Ferguson 6499s and JCB Loadalls. Convenient seasonal accommodation is available if required.
