Description

After 16 years, our Dairy Manager is retiring, so reluctantly we are seeking an experienced and ambitious Dairy Manager to maintain the excellent progress and oversee our 1000 cow Dairy Unit, Youngstock, and land-based operations within an established team.

This role requires sound leadership, problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach to Dairy Farm Management.

The successful candidate will act as the key link between Farms Director and the Dairy Team, ensuring smooth communication and efficient operations.

This role replaces a Key Member of our Team, who joined the Glenapp Team in 2009 when our Dairy herd was established and the green field , purpose built dairy started to be built.

The successful individual will be passionate about making a meaningful contribution to the business and established team.

Key Responsibilities:

•Farm Operations & Livestock Management Oversee daily farm activities, ensuring high standards of stockmanship, productivity, and animal welfare.

•Milk Output Optimisation Implement strategies to optimise milk yield while maintaining herd health, fertility, and feed efficiency.

•Grassland & Seasonal Rotation Management Implement and oversee rotational grazing and grass and clover ley management to optimize feed resources.

•Wintering Systems & Housing Manage on-off wintering systems and optimize our mix of cubicle wintering, slats and bedded courts to ensure comfort and efficiency.
