We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our 650-acre dairy farm, located between Bath and Bristol. The manager will be working 11 days per fortnight.
The role involves full responsibility for managing a team of three full-time staff and a 160-cow Holstein Friesian herd. Milking is carried out twice per day through a modern 20:20 Boumatic parlour, installed in 2016, and operating with SmartDairy / Herdmetrix software.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the dairy unit
- Staff supervision, organisation, and motivation
- Milking management and parlour operation
- Calf rearing and youngstock management
- Feeding, bedding and yard work
- Liaison with vets and other advisers
- Responsibility for herd health and fertility performance
- Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and farm presentation
The successful candidate will work closely with the Farm Owner, playing a key role in decision-making and the ongoing development of the business.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual who is keen to join our team and build a long-term role within the business. This position would suit someone who takes pride in running a well-managed dairy farm and enjoys being part of a wider, established farming and food enterprise. Alongside the dairy unit, the business produces cheese on site and operates a farm shop and caf in buildings adjacent to the main farm building. Around 50 people are employed on the cheese and retail side, creating a professional and supportive working environment. The farm is set in a beautiful rural location with easy access to Bath and Bristol. Applicants should be proactive, work well as part of a team, and be comfortable working closely with the Farm Owner.
