We are a leading Kent-based agricultural contracting business, providing a wide range of agricultural services across the region.
We are looking for an experienced person to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis to assist the Livestock Manager.
We currently block calf 350 in March/April and 75 in September/October. We breed from our own replacement heifers and buy cattle into finish, including at least 200 rearing calves on machines.
Key Responsibilities
•Animal Husbandry: Monitor livestock daily, managing health, productivity, identifying and addressing any health or welfare concerns
•Calving: Manage cattle during calving seasons, calf health and welfare, handling and tagging
•Stock Handling: Weigh, vaccinate and handle livestock safely
•Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Keep yards, feed troughs and water points clean and in good working order
•Teamwork: Work alongside the Livestock Manager and be willing to work as part of a team
What We Are Looking For:
•3 to 5 years previous experience in a similar stock handling role
•Close attention to detail regarding animal health and welfare
•Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
•Telehandler Ticket is desirable but not essential as training can be provided
