ARABLE OPERATOR

Hours: 40 hours per week basic, with additional hours required during peak periods
We are a family-run arable business farming 400ha in North Northumberland. Our rotation includes milling wheat, oilseed rape, barley and vining peas. Alongside our arable enterprise, we operate a commercial pheasant shoot, with conservation forming a key part of our overall approach.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team in a varied, hands-on role. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of farm operations and estate maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivations
- Spraying
- Fertiliser spreading
- Trailer work
- Combine operation (for the right candidate)
- Loading grain lorries
- Grain store work (cleaning, inspection, record keeping)
- Fencing and estate maintenance
- Forestry work
- Machinery maintenance and general farm repairs
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Telehandler certification
- PA1 and PA2
Desirable (not essential):
- Chainsaw certification
- PA4 and PA6
- Good workshop/mechanical skills
- Experience using GPS-guided machinery
Training and development opportunities will be provided for the right candidate.
