We are looking to recruit an experienced tractor driver/stockperson. Alongside the farming business we run an agricultural and equine construction enterprise that carries out various jobs but predominantly fencing. There may be times where we will require some assistance with this work as well.
Tractor driving tasks include haymaking, bale and muck carting, topping, corn carting and some cultivations. You will be required to use a teleporter for loading/unloading with an NPORS qualification available for the telehandler.
Stock work would include assisting with lambing, shearing, catching and daily checks of the sheep and cattle as required in the summer and help with feeding and daily care of the cattle in the winter. We would require someone who has a background in stockmanship and knows that the health and wellbeing of the livestock needs to be at the forefront of their duties. We have a pedigree ewe flock of 30 dutch spotted sheep, a commercial ewe flock of around 150 ewes, 50 suckler cows and we look to rear 125-150 dairy calves through to 450kg.
Experience with horses would be beneficial in order to provide support for holiday cover for the business owners.
Hours are Monday to Friday 7am-5pm with additional hours and weekend work during the busier times.
We offer 28 days holiday, fortnightly pay, company pension and training where needed.
