Tractor & Estate Assistant/Handyman - Equine Department
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Tractor & Estate Assistant and Handyman to join our Equine team. This is a busy and varied hands-on role, working closely with the management, and Equine team to ensure tractor work, field management, and estate operations supporting horse welfare are carried out to the highest standard.
In this role, you will operate tractors, telehandlers, trailers, and utility vehicles to move materials, feed, and waste around the estate. Youll support stabling and field management, carry out routine machinery maintenance, and assist with spraying and fertiliser application where qualified. Daily tasks include distributing hay and straw to yards and barns, mucking out pens, emptying muck trailers, maintaining tidy midden areas, and checking and maintaining tractors and other machinery. Additional duties may involve fencing and repairs, straw chopping, path and gateway maintenance, water trough repairs, power washing, and general estate upkeep. Duties will vary during seasons with their being more barn/field work in different months.
We are looking for someone personable, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team, with a flexible and positive approach to their work.
Key Skills & Experience
Safe and competent operation of tractors, telehandlers, and other agricultural machinery
Basic machinery maintenance and repair skills
Experience working at height and understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities
Ability to support equine welfare and estate management tasks
Flexible availability, including one weekend day
