Ref 1933 North Norfolk

We're recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for an outdoor breeding unit in North Norfolk.

You will play an important role in maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and herd health for a nationally leading pig business.

Working as part of an experienced team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care of breeding pigs and piglets. You will receive full support from your manager and have access to modern, well-maintained equipment and tractors.

About the Business:

This is a family-run business operating a number of breeding and finishing units across Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire.

Your Responsibilities:

Maintain high standards of animal welfare at all times

Provide excellent day-to-day care for the pigs

Feed livestock using a trailed feeder, tote bin and scoop

Carry out daily health checks and provide treatment when required

Maintain electric fencing to ensure the safety of both livestock and the public

Strim around electric fencing to prevent unwanted earthing

Support with the wider maintenance of the farm to ensure excellent presentation standards and a safe working environment

Wash and clean tents and huts between batches to maintain high standards of biosecurity

Carry out artificial insemination of breeding stock

Escort gilts and sows to the service hub

Assist with the culling and preparation of sows, boars, weaners and piglets for transport when required

Follow all company procedures and Health & Safety requirements

Attend mandatory training sessions

Carry out other duties as required, according to your skills and capabilities
