We are looking for a Herdsperson to become a valued member of our team who aligns with our family values, care for cows and love of farming. This energetic role involves routine milking, stock work and equipment maintenance, to ensure the well-being of our herd and the efficiency of daily farm activities. The role can be tailored to the right individual.
We are a mixed dairy and arable farm, covering 800ha of combineable crops, forage crops and root crops and milking 320 holsteins through a 24:48 swingover parlour. We calve on a summer block from June-September on a high welfare, high milk solids contract and are incredibly proud of what we achieve as a team.
Duties could include but are not exclusive to:
•Routine milking shifts and stock work.
•Feeding, foot-trimming or AI, dependent on ability and qualifications
•Care and maintenance of milking parlour and equipment.
•Paddock and infrastructure maintenance.
•Support animal health by detecting issues early and administering treatments.
•Keeping detailed records of animal health and treatments using Uniform Agri software.
Requirements
•Minimum 3 years experience.
•Experience with high yielding cows preferred.
•Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
•Good attention to detail and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
•Basic math skills
•Knowledge of cow software systems
•AI, foot-trimming and feeding - training can be provided
•Safe use of Veterinary medicines, milksure training.
•Telehandler licence
•Driving licence

•4 bed family home with garden and log burner, located in the village a 3minute walk from the farm. Council tax paid. Good local schools, sports clubs and amenities. Nearest town is a 7 minute drive away, school buses stop in the village.
•40-45hrs/week average, 5 days a week. Alternate weekends. Rota partly flexible to suit needs and strengths i.e. if sports clubs train on a certain day.
•20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
