Description

We are looking for a person with a keen interest to be part of a 5 person team on a 450 cow dairy on the Northants/Cambs border. We calve all year round and the cows are milked on 8 Lely A5 robots. The main role is associated with the overall management of the herd including, collecting cows, helping with vet and foot trimming routines, maintaining a high standard of shed cleanliness and hygine. The job will also involve being part of a team being responsible for drying off cows, calving, heat detection, AI and foot trimming skills advantageous but not essential, Calf rearing and youngstock is a part of this role. Ongoing training will be provided.

The dairy was built on a green field site in 2014 incorporating new cubicle buildings, new lely robots with installed in 2024 using auto id, Cowmanger heat/health detection system and new modern machinery. The milking herd is housed in cubicles and fed on a full TMR ration with feeding to yield in the robots

The applicant must have an interest in dairy farming and be able to provide one recent reference. Applicants need to have a good command of the English language to facilitate good communication within the dairy team.
