Description

We are an innovative farming and food business combining Total Freedom poultry, sheep, on-farm processing, direct retail and regenerative farming. We are building a business that aims to produce exceptional food whilst improving the land for future generations.

You will have a good understanding of farm maintenance, machinery, livestock you will be able to drive a telehandler and tractor, training is offered. As a small business we value flexible people who have a can do attitude to help the business grow.

Within the role you will be required to:

Poultry husbandry including feeding, bedding, welfare checks, shed preparation, bird movements and catching.

Working with farm supervisor and team to manage day to day tasks. which will mean after working with chickens you could be working on sheep/workshop/outdoor maintenance.

Good communication skills, working to a farming structure ensuring each days jobs are complete. highlighting issues and solutions where required.

General farm maintenance to include; vehicle & machinery maintenance, fencing, welding, construction, groundworks and labouring in line with general farm maintenance.

Working in on farm poultry abattoir & packing unit

Pressure washing, setting up sheds, general cleaning of yard

Assist with the management of the sheep enterprise including grazing moves, handling, lambing, dosing and welfare checks.

This is a responsible position, which needs the successful candidate to be a team player and also happy to work alone.

Shifts and hours can be flexible so we can take on full-time or part-time employees.

Telehandler Certificates are a preference but training can be given.

Driving License, experienced with a telehandler

Be reliable and committed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Practically minded; maintenance, construction skills and experience

References required

Salary is dependent on experience with bonus's offered. We offer 28 days holiday. Enrolment into Nest pension scheme. We love food and hope you do too, so we give a 40% staff discount.
