Full Time Cattle Manager/General Farm Worker Job - Northumberland
Arable, Beef, Sheep
UK
NE66
North East
Description

Having received notice of my cattleman's relocation to South Africa after a wonderful five-year tenure, I am now seeking a skilled herdsman to oversee our two-hundred-head suckler herd. This position will encompass all facets of their care, including nutrition, feeding, and the management of weight gain within a roundhouse facility. Our herd predominantly consists of Aberdeen Angus cattle, complemented by a smaller contingent of Australian Lowlines. The ideal candidate should possess self-assurance and the ability to work autonomously. Proficiency in calf registration and the upkeep of cattle records using Herwatch is also essential. Furthermore, general farm duties such as silage production, harvesting, and farm maintenance will be required. There may also be occasional opportunities to assist with fencing repairs, sheep management, and to work with our distinctive Valais Blacknose sheep. The farm is situated in the Cheviot Hills, Northumberland, within the National Park.
