**J********Contractors Ltd provides specialist grounds maintenance using tractors for sports clubs, local authorities, and utilities. Using a modern fleet of John Deere tractors and precision agriculture technology, we deliver specialist services including:

•Sports pitch operations (polo clubs, football, rugby, cricket, golf): aeration, overseeding, fertilising, topdressing,

•Large area vegetation management: flailing, topping, vacuum sweeping,

•Hedge cutting (highways and private),

•General grounds and operational support across diverse sites.

We operate from our base near Horsham West Sussex and cover the South East and into London. Due to steady expansion we are now looking to recruit an experienced tractor driver to join our busy contracting operation.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled, competent tractor operator with a genuine agricultural background. This role suits someone who enjoys machinery, takes pride in their work, and wants a more settled, balanced, and predictable lifestyle than traditional farming often allows.

You will be joining a small, close knit team, all with strong agricultural backgrounds, so you will be working alongside people who understand machinery, seasonal pressures, and the standards expected in contracting.

You will primarily operate modern John Deere 6R tractors with additional use of John Deere compact tractors where the job requires it. Work ranges from rural estates to highly urban environments, so confidence and competence on the road is essential.

We also undertake specialist airside operations, and for the right candidate, there will be opportunities to support this work during busy periods a unique chance to broaden your experience and be part of a highly trusted operational team.

This is a customer facing role, involving regular interactions with clients, site managers, and members of the public. Clear communication and a professional manner are important.

Key Responsibilities

•Operating tractors and implements across sports turf, vegetation management, and infrastructure sites (e.g. highways, utility sites, airports)

•Using GreenStar and precision agriculture systems (training available if required)

•Carrying out daily machinery checks and basic maintenance

•Safe and competent road driving in both rural and urban settings

•Maintaining accurate records (job sheets, hours, fuel logs, maintenance notes)

•Representing the business professionally on all sites

•Ensuring high standards of workmanship and site care

•Supporting airside operations during peak periods (for suitable candidates)

What We Are Looking For

•Strong agricultural tractor driving experience (essential)

•Confident operating modern machinery and attachments

• Good communication skills and a customer focused approach

•Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

•Pride in machinery care and job quality

•Although not necessary a HGV certificate would be advantageous.
