A conscientious individual with a real passion for cows required to become part of a forward thinking team on our family run dairy farm based near Shipston-on-Stour.
The farm was built on a green Field site in 2004 with excellent facilities We have 280 high yielding Holstein Friesians averaging 8700l. New Housing with automatic scrappers and a fully computerised, auto ID, Dairy Master 14/28 Swiftflo parlour with auto drafting and backing gate, with Moo Monitor + heat dection.
The herd is Autumn calving and housed in the winter (TMR fed) and grazed in the Spring/Summer on rotational paddock sysytem. Selling milk via a ARLA C.A.R.E. grazing contract, so attention to detail is essential.
Recently installed 100 extra cubicles and newly constructed building.
The position would suit a post college graduate or a experienced person, who is self-motivated and enthusiastic, has a knowledge of Dairy cows and looking to progress their career on to the next level. Main duties will be being involved in all areas of a expanding farm enterprise from all tractor duties from TMR feeding, calf rearing, grass field work, sawdust dispensing and scraping up with bobcat, milking, calving, vet and med duties liaising with vet when required. Candidates ideally require Telescopic handler certificate, but not essential as training can be provided in key areas to increase skill set.
