Farming background

Childhood to 2018 I grew up on my family owned arable farm. My dad only owns around 400 acres of arable but the family (my family in the sorrounding area) own thousands in total.

Dads farm is entirely self sufficient with modern equipment like new Lemkin sprayers and combination drills. John Deere tractors up to 215hp and a John Deere combine too. John Deere round balers and new Holland conventional baler. New shelbourne hedge cutters. And toppers. Etc and much more all of which I was out and using as a child into my teens. Experience in cultivations. Fertilising and a little bit of spraying.

When I was 16 (2018) I moved out of Kent all together and shifted on over to Surrey where I worked for church farm services. Here I was a contractor. This is where I first fell in love with silage season. Running at the time the biggest John Deere forager on the market harvesting thousands of acres for dairys or AD plants. I was a tractor driver with a Stewart trailer hauling long distance most of the time. Along with the foraging we also had two krone big balers and I was loading and carting all over the show.

At church farm I also cared for traditional British long horn cattle. Feeding bedding up and cattle handling duties. Oh and fixing fences. Lots of fences.

Church farm were also a fencing contractor. We were fencing all over the place from boundaries around country parks in central London to stock fencing on farms. Equifence in horse yards and barbed wire fences on our own farm. We even did feather edge fences in many housing estates over the slow winter months.

I left in 2020 and moved to sussex in search of better pay and landed a full time role within agricultural haulage. I drive a fast track 4220 with big ab hook loader trailer and a forestry crane mounted to a bin. I would pick up horse muck from yards spanning from Eastbourne to chertsey to Hampshire. We covered a large area dealing with some exclusive clients. I racked up a serious amount of miles on the road hauling heavily loads safely.

Whilst working here for sussex manures we also made hay ,straw and haylage on our ground working with bale packers bale wrappers and a lot of muck spreading work here too.

Not all if the muck we collect was to be spread. Most of it was processed on our production line and bagged up to be sold to garden centres or delivered to the customers door by us aswell. It was a very diverse role.

Then Im may of 2022 I moved to the isle of Sheppey and begun working on a simply massive arable farm and grain storage facility. Now working with large kit a fleet of combines and foragers. And some serious grain stores. Using dryers, intake pits, conveyor systems, seed treatment systems and much more.

We also have an on-site ad plant that I do a lot of work with. Feeding it all it needs and removing by products like liquid digestate(fake slurry) or dry digestate (fake muck)

We run large red rock tankers to a vredo dribble bar machine.

During harvest I was in the harvest team hauling grain. Testing moisture. Testing for bugs in stores. Pushing up stores and fitting oedistools or piped ducting. And checking for ergot. Then in silage season again I was a trailer driver. Wich dont get me wrong I love but I was hoping for a more involved role with cultivation.

After Attwoods I joined Barfoots for a season on a tens of thousands of acres veg farm. I was mostly cultivation/ liquid fertiliser work though hauling a lot during harvest and irrigation before hand.

Im sure Im forgetting to mention a lot of experience but you get the most of what Ive done in the past I hope.
