EMPLOYMENT & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

April 2023 - Present - Company Agronomist, Hambledon, Hampshire

As a Company Agronomist I provide growers advice on growing speciality and novel crops in the South Central and coastal areas. Premium Crops specialise in growing oilseeds for industrial use with over 20 years of research in this area I had the opportunity to carry this on by co-ordinating trials to further build our understanding in this subject area. Not only did I maintain our current work but I have expanded our knowledge through research and development into new oil crops for sustainable markets. As we are moving towards more climate friendly times our skills were utilised by Cefetra LTD to develop Cefetra Eco Services which uses a measured system to sequest carbon back into the soil while maintaining crop viability and yield components. Throughout my time at Premium Crops I have worked with new and existing technologies to build robust programs for the development of our crops.

September 2022 to November 2022 - Part Time Contract Farm Worker, Woodstock, Oxfordshire

Provided general assistance on a farm with 3000 ewes, 600-900 lambs and up to 140 cattle. Duties included monitoring grazing, collecting and sorting deadstock, feeding cattle, moving animals, working dogs, positioning and repairing electric fencing, taking sheep to market, worming sheep, topping, tractor and telehandler driving. While working with Clarke Farming Partnership we had a small side venture exploring the possibility and viability of low carbon lamb working with major retailers to explore this new venture.

July 2022- September 2022 - Seasonal Harvest Worker, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire

Worked as a seasonal harvest worker for PrimeWest. Duties included tractor driving for the harvest, assisting the agricultural engineer to help maintain a fleet of machinery, general tractor driving, forklift driving, topping, ploughing, cultivating, taking grain to grain store, loading tractors with grain from 3 farms, pushing up grain in the store, working on drills, cultivators, toppers in the workshop and hay/straw delivery. As PrimeWest are an agricultural contractor, all works were on local farms and deliveries were to local grain stores and horse yards.

May 2022- June 2022 - Paid Work Experience, Droxford, Hampshire

Paid work experience required as part of my college course. Duties included slurry spreading, topping, morning and afternoon milking, calf rearing and grounds maintenance. Often and where appropriate these tasks were unsupervised.

November 2021-May 2022 Customer Advisor, Tradepoint, B&Q, Hedge End, Hampshire

I work part time in the Tradepoint section, dealing with regular trade customers. I built on my previous experience at B&Q to provide support to other members of staff and other departments within the store at busy times.

July 2021 to September 2021 - Production Section Leader, Asda, Totton, Hampshire

As production section leader, it was my responsibility to ensure the bakery, pizza counter and rotisserie counter functioned to a high standard, producing enough product for the day with as little waste as possible. My duties included the placement of ingredient orders, management of the cleaning of the areas to food safety standards and the preparation of team rotas. I also assisted other departments within the store, including home shopping, and have been involved in store security and the lock up procedures.

March 2021 to July 2021 Customer Advisor, B&Q, Fareham, Hampshire

Whilst working at B&Q Fareham store I worked with a range of customers and people. I learned how to use a range of technology and computer programmes to assist customers and colleagues in carrying out tasks such as working stock, getting products on the shelf quickly and effectively, picking items for click and collect and helping customers with general inquiries. In the absence of my team leader I stepped up and organised the team to run smoothly and effectively.

November 2018- September 2019 Customer Advisor, B&Q, Hedge End, Hampshire

During my time at B&Q I learnt how to use the technologies to assist customers with their needs. I also would supervise the front end team, covering for the supervisor during staff shortages. I also got the opportunity to train 3 new members of the front end team on competently using the tills and technologies for sales, returns and click and collect. My time on the front end returns team meant that I would have to deal with sometimes irate customers and I would have to try things I wouldnt ordinarily do, such as using the PA system for staff and customer announcements.

July 2018 to August 2018 - Trainee carpenter, R M Carpentry and Building, Bishops Waltham, Hampshire

During my limited time as a trainee carpenter I learnt how to solve problems and find solutions for customers.
