Experience across several pig farms, gaining experience in all aspects of pig farming; AI, farrowing, vaccinating, culling, etc. Experience working at the centre for dairy research at Reading university for 2 years, doing relief work for the research team; including feeding tmr, handling cattle, milking. Experience mob grazing, as relief stockperson at local estate.

Farming background

2012-2017: worked weekends and school holidays at local sheep farm helping with lambing and general farm tasks.

2016-2019: worked weekends and days off college & school at local sheep and beef farming helping with all farm tasks including lambing, plus all general husbandry tasks.

2020 spring: working at local estate as relief stockman for 150 suckler cows, on mob grazing system.

2020 summer: worked full time at local arable contractors, during harvest, mainly being main corn cart, also helping with all general farm jobs working extremely long hours.

2020-2022: worked at large turkey farm; handling & loading turkeys, collecting eggs, cleaning eggs, recording eggs, humane culling of poultry, taking blood & swabs for testing, ensuring the general welfare of the birds.

2022-2023 completed a year course in pig production with a specialist recruitment agency, learning about all aspects of pig production across farms in Dorset & West Sussex.

2023: lambing season in Scottish Borders

2023 summer: relief work for road hogs agency, across pigs farms

2023-present - herdsman at the centre for dairy research.
