I started of as a general driver doing all sorts from feeding to rolling during my apprenticeship. I then moved on to a contractor where i was able to gain experience in ploughing and other cultivation including disks. After this i moved to another contractor where I was one of the team leaders driving John Deere 215R and Joskin slurry tanker, this was my first introduction to greenstar gps systems. In this same role I was a trailer driver for the foraging team.
I then moved to my next position where I was one of three arable operators, I was involved in cultivating and drilling alongside fertilising all other general operating roles. I am a proficient telehandler driver and load/unload almost all of the lorries with grain. The farm had fendt tractors with autosteer/gps systems and vaderstad cultivation equipment including 4m top 6m disks and a 6m rapid drill. I used to relief spray with a fendt 724 and amazone ux4200 trailer sprayer.
I proceeded to move to my current role where I became the lead sprayer and combine operator. I currently run a John deere with a Horsch Leeb 6GS 36m trailed sprayer which was bought new when I started. In the summer I also operate our 2 year old New Holland cr8.80 combine and consider myself very competent on not only this equipment but anything else on the farm.
In my previous role we were milking 800 cows. where I did not milk myself, during the winter I was heavily involved with feeding and bedding the animals.
