Farming background

July - Oct 2022 Harvest and Cultivations Ramsbury:

Farm covers 900acres, cropping OSR, Barley, Wheat, Beans and Linseed.

With one full time member of staff plus myself and the owner, it was a very concise team relying on equal workshare. For corn cart I was using a modern 6215R John Deere; and for cultivations and rolling I was using a 7930. Being part of a small team gave me experience in managing myself and my workload to complete field work within our set out time periods for drilling.

October 2021 spud harvest and cultivation in Norfolk:

Through contacts from the RAU, I was asked up to Norfolk to help Sentry with the potato harvest. Carting crates of potatoes for seed with a 40ft artic lorry trailer on a dolly behind a 6170R provided a new hauling experience. I was also asked to run a carrier and rolls post-harvest.

July- Sep 2021 harvest and cultivation in sparsholt

June - Sep 2018, July - Aug 2019, July - Aug 2020:

Farm, Hampshire:

Farming 2000ac of arable land for seed, cropping OSR, Wheat, Barley, Beans, Grass seed, and a small area of commercial vetch. They also have their own seed processing plant. Their operation focuses on precision targeting extremely high purity standards. This was my first on farm role and I relished the opportunity and took the job very quickly.

Aug - Present:

Sub-contracting for a local contractor:

He runs a local contracting and fencing business, operating machinery including, a homemade tracked post knocker, New Holland Skid steer, and a Valtra N174. I have had the opportunity to operate and become familiar with a wide range of machinery when working with him including carrying out paddock spraying with a Polaris.

Dec 2017 - Present:

Sole Trader of a Farm/Agricultural Services Company.

Started a rare breed smallholding at my parents house in December 2017 and then offered contract topping and aeration services locally after the purchase and restoration of machinery. The purpose of this venture was to provide me with 1st hand experience of starting, managing, and running a business. I sell premium boxed lamb and free-range duck eggs direct to private customers with excellent feedback and customer satisfaction.
