Reared heifers and bulls to the highest standards. Fed and looked after livestock under grassland management, with multiple different types of machinery. Monitored livestock health through, escalating any concerns to the farm manager where we can both decide what is the best route to take to solve any issues. Promoted impeccable standards of animal welfare.
Carried out individual and team milking's, drying of cows, moving the herd, carrying out any foot trimming that may need to be done. Assist with artificial insemination, TB testing, and any other issues that I needed to call the vets out for if not being able to solve myself.
Maintaining records, including medications, administer any medications needed, while following the guidelines. Preparing the farm for any inspections that may be occurring. Help teach and over-see any new members of staff that may be starting/started. Maintaining the farming environment and machinery, from barbed and electric fencing, up to tractor work
