Family farm- 150 head of blonde cross south devon which would run with blonde bull. Rearing a small group of angus cross calves for a family member from few days old to weaned. 4 years assistant herdsperson- 450 expanding Jersey cross herd. 20/40 herringbone swing over. AI. Tagging and dehorning all youngstock. 1 year fattening & arable unit - fresian barley bulls selling to McDonalds, blue cross streers to morrisons and Angus to waitrose. TMR feeding, bedding up, scraping out, weighing and moving stock.
Then went self employed relief milking mainly 2 different dairy farms one of 150 pedigree fresians the other expanding 400 pedigree fresian. With calf rearing in between from freshly born to weaned stock. Also working with the small herd of barley bulls. Then helping other farms in the local area out here and there with milking/calf feeding /tb testing whenever they were needing a helping hand.
Took some time in New Zealnd on 2 beef and sheep farms. One 150 head of cattle and 8500 sheep and the other with 450 cattle and 6000 sheep. Duties include lambing, crutching, shearing, calf marking, tagging, tailing, moving stock.
Came back and went to work on a family dairy/arable farm which duties included milking every other weekend and anytime during the week when the full time staff were off. Working closely alongside the youngstock manager during the week from feeding/bedding milk calfs, feeding/bedding weaned and daily routines of the fat stock.
Now working on my partners brothers dairy farm in Devon which involves the running of the dairy cows doing the milking and working closely with him to make sure all high standards are met. While running a small flock of my own breeding Dutch spotted cross ewes while prior to moving to Devon we were running 120 breeding ewes breeding fat lambs for the local butchers and doing our own meat boxes.

Grew up on the family beef farm. Been farming as soon as I could walk. Breed my own herd of highland cattle for showing. Roughly just over 10 years worth of dairy farming experience. Worked on a beef fattening farm which included field work. Worked in New Zealand on 2 different sheep and beef farms.
