Arable Operator/General Farm Worker looking for larger arable work in the southeast/southwest of England with some livestock experience.

2001-2003 farm hand on a dairy farm whilst at college, involved with TB testing, foot trimming, transporting/moving and calves. 2013-2016 small private flock of sheep and 4 pedigree Herefords bullocks, day to day supervision, feeding and checks.

Currently involved with sheep, some say to day general checking and regular moving with a rappa winder.

In my younger years I was a member of the Newent YFC and in 2001 I won sportsman of the year on the clay shooting. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of a shooting syndicate and hope to get back into that one day.

Farming background

2001-2003 dairy farm, working as a farm hand whilst at college, mainly tractor work and farm maintenance with day to day livestock work. 2003-2008 Self employed, tee surgeon, pest control (deer/fox/rabbit/pigeon)and tractor/machine driver for agricultural contractor (heavy ground works, hedge cutting, round baling), several arable farms 1 with potatoes (combining, cultivations, trailer work, lots of loader work, muck spreading, silage and hay making). 2008-2012 Forestry Commission, forestry maintenance, dangerous tree work 2012-2013 Forestry Commission, harvesting and maintenance contractor supervision, emergency tree work. 2013-2016 Estate Groundsman, overall responsibility of building, grounds and machinery maintenance. 2016-Jan 2021, Deputy foreman up to Estate Foreman, Responsible for leading and running the estate maintenance team but also keeping my hand in with machinery operation (topping, trailer work, forwarder, winching, loader work and digger operation as well as chainsaw and maintenance work). Also organising logistics and contractors as well as being a budget holder. Jan 2021-July2021, estate Foreman, looking after resident Tennant farmers and general maintenance across 35000 acres. July 2021-Present, Arable Operator/General Farm Worker, combining, spraying, cultivations, hedgetrimming, general maintenance of buildings, infrastructure and machinery, tree/chainsaw work as well as helping intake and outload of the commercial grainstore.
