I was the main tractor man on a farm of 2000acres winter barley, spring barley and sillage.then became the shepherd on the estate. I have licenses for most things.gained most of my experience working for an agricultural contractor.

I helped out with all stock when it was needed from calfing to lambing then became more involved with sheep and became a shepherd looking after 1700mule ewes. Then I became 1 of 3 shepherd's looking after 3000 black face ewes. I can lamb alone inside or out.Helped with dairy work and all other stock duties.have experience training dog's . Shared the role looking after 3500 sheep I've got good working dog's I've since became head shepherd on a hill farm looking after 600 bf ewes and 30 Angus cattle,I also oversee the running of our other farm which has 800bf ewes and 30 Angus cattle. It's a demanding roll but one I love doing I've since became head Shepherd,stockman looking after 950 sheep 40 cattle with calfs.

I enjoy spending time with the family and playing the bagpipes. At the moment with the job role I have running a farm on my own I dedicate all my time to my work.

Farming background

I come from a farming background through all my school holidays I was at my gran and papas farm. Then I left school and got a job on a local farm as a gfw. I left that and got a job with an aggriculture contractor to gain experience with all machinery which I done for about 3years. Then I went back to farming as the main tractor man on a farm of 2000acr when doing that I became more involved with the sheep.then became the shepherd on the estate. I left that job and got my PCV licence which I done for about 3years then went back to farming as a shepherd. Due to the farmer selling up and retirement I went and got my hgv I've since came back to farming. I'm very hard working and have attention to detail .I am now back being a shepherd with the responsibility of 1500 breeding ewes and 300 hoggs. I have good working dog's I've since became head shepherd on a hill farm which I've been thriving and motivated to do with responsibility of the day to day running of 1000acr .I've since from 12/22 been asked to work on a farm and take leadership of the day to day running of the sheep and cattle.
