Farming background

My name is Alasdair. I am 23 years of age. I have always worked outdoors, and I am seriously interested in this position. My CV covers my work history, but I would like to add more information, particularly regarding farming and estate maintenance work. Over the last few years, I have been fortunate to work on a self-employed basis. This has given me the opportunity to build up a knowledge of various and diverse skills that some other candidates may not have had the opportunity to try.

These range from all work associated with sheep and cattle husbandry including extensive lambing and calving experience. Most tractor and machine operation work based around arable and livestock farming. Some off the more interesting interchangeable estate and farm maintenance skills I have are I am a competent drystone dyker. I am competent with firearms and can carry out various vermin control work. I have done drainage works and am competent at carrying out gamekeeping duties. Being self-employed has had many advantages and I am always keen to expand my knowledge in agriculture I feel that it is now time to settle down and secure a permanent position. I hope you will consider me for this roll as I am sure I can contribute to your business. I say business but farming is a way of life with often long hard and unsociable hours. It is not for everyone, but it is for me. This is a life I enjoy. If given this opportunity I would not let you down. I am the sort of person that loves the traditional ways of working in the country, but I am not afraid to embrace the modern methods. I am a good team player who is hard working and conscientious. I am a quick learner and would not let you down.

Please contact me to discuss further. Trying to sell myself on paper is not my strong point.

Kindest Regards
