Farming background

Come from a 500 acre family arable farm in the East Midlands. Most recently finished a fixed term contract with Sentry Farming in Leicestershire where I was a farm operative supporting the area manager on 1600 acre estate. Main duties included drilling and fertiliser spreading as well as handling administration of annual Red Tractor audit.

Prior to this I was an Assistant Farm Manager on a 600 acre family farm in Essex. I was responsible for all arable operations on farm incliding spraying, drilling and fertiliser spreading in addition to supporting on farm diversifications which included a sizeable DIY livery. I also completed the farms annual BPS and CS scheme claims as well as successfully applying for CS and RPA capital grants toward track repairs, hedgerow planting and the purchase of a direct drill.

Before this I spent time working at home supporting my father whom was recovering from a serious motor accident. I assisted with cultivations, drilling, fertiliser spreading and helped with daily business administration.

Worked as an Advisor for water company in the Midlands, working with farmers on water quality issues, handling grant applications and promoting incentive schemes.

Prior to that I was working in a compliance team for a waste recycling firm specializing in the recycling of organic off farm wastes to agricultural land.

Hold telescopic forklift cert and have HGV Class 2 licence.

Also spent 10 months working and travelling across Australia, during which time I carried out seeding and some stock work.
