Other equipment experience

Experienced in operating a range of machinery, from large 370hp tractors with Bailey trailers to smaller tractors, quad bikes, and 4x4 vehicles. I am a conscientious and practical worker, equally confident in machinery operation as in hands-on manual tasks, and always willing to step in wherever needed. I take pride in maintaining equipment to a high standard, regularly checking oil levels, greasing, and ensuring machinery is well cared for and reliable. Will always ask for help if needed, I don't know everything!

Other livestock experience

I have spent much of my working life caring for and managing sheep, developing a strong understanding of flock behaviour, health, and welfare. My experience covers all aspects of the sheep calendar from lambing and feeding to pasture management, handling, and general flock husbandry.

Ive assisted with the lambing of more than 1,200 ewes, both indoors and outdoors, working long hours through busy periods to ensure ewes and lambs received the best possible care. My responsibilities included assisting difficult births, mothering-on, feeding orphan lambs, tagging, weighing, and recording data, as well as monitoring flock health for signs of illness or lameness. I take pride in my attention to detail and calm, capable manner when working under pressure.

In addition to lambing, Ive been involved in daily livestock checks, routine treatments such as drenching, foot trimming, and vaccinations, and moving and handling stock safely, often using dogs. Im confident working alone or as part of a small team, communicating clearly and supporting others to get the job done well.

I also have experience maintaining grazing areas, repairing fencing, operating tractors and telehandlers for feeding and bedding, and managing mixed livestock systems. My background includes rearing cattle and assisting with calving, but my main passion lies in sheep ensuring their welfare, productivity, and comfort are consistently maintained.

I hold a clean UK driving licence and have strong references from mixed arable and livestock farms where Ive worked. I bring reliability, a strong work ethic, and genuine care for the animals and land I look after.
