Experienced, knowledgeable and confident making firm decisions such as appropriate cultivation techniques for best soil management and crop establishment on all land-types.
Highly competent in combinable crop operations with utmost attention to detail and timeliness.
Very capable of evaluating, calibrating and operating equipment. Also competent with all leading guidance systems, precision farming including crop-monitoring and variable-rate applications. Versatile workshop skills in diesel engine repair, machinery refurbishment, welding repair and fabrication.
Excellent working knowledge of IT suites including Windows, MAC-OS, Excel, Gatekeeper (including precision farming modules) and much more.
Various periods of seasonal work as assistant to stockmen at lambing/calving time including many aspects of animal husbandry with sheep and beef cattle.
Also some experience of foxhound husbandry where kennels were on-farm.
One year I also produced and marketed 40 Christmas turkeys in my spare time.
With some (limited!) previous livestock experience I'm open-minded about incorporating stock into the rotation in a move towards a more mixed-farming approach.

Im truly excited by farming, the countryside and environment and seek a rewarding long-term opportunity where I can become integral to the success of a vibrant business and also where my family might play their own part in a thriving rural community.

I have a young family who are also interested in farming and very understanding of the changeable seasonal workload. My wife would certainly be interested in bringing her own skillset to a business with potential diversification interests in health and wellbeing.

Genuinely interested in the long-term health of the land and those who depend on it: I absolutely love farming. An innovative manager with a mindset to be more than just sustainable; I'd like to work towards removal of fossil-fuel intensive props, focusing instead on soil enhancement, clean food production and future-proof profitability.
My family were agricultural engineers, running a very successful business. Rather than slot in here; I chose instead to carve my own path; gaining valuable experience and a working knowledge of a variety of farm businesses in the North and East of England.
I've worked as Assistant Farm Manager of a large-scale contract farming operation which involved the supervision of staff members and contractors, with accountability for their wellbeing.
Elsewhere as Working Farm Manager of a heavy-land estate I was responsible for the day-to-day operation and arable husbandry of the farm.
As a straightforward and conscientious individual I have a proven track record of always operating in a professional and efficient manner and wish to build on these qualities and go on to produce cleaner food in a responsible manner.
