Scraping out and small tasks around the yard with the loader tractor/telehandler. I am keen to develop my tractor operating skills, Im a good listener, quick learner and a careful driver.
I have lots of experience in lambing and sheep tasks. I am responsible for calves from the point of birth so deal with colostrum administration, dipping navels, castration and tagging etc. I would like to develop my experience in calving as I have assisted with some births but have not had much experience in comparison to lambing.

I am a 22 year old Graduate student from south east Wales with almost 6 years of agricultural experience. I have worked in the dairy industry for over two years alongside my studies and am now relief milking full time on three different farms. I have experience milking in herringbone and abreast parlours and will be gaining experience in training cows onto a robotic milking system by the end of the month.
I am a fluent Welsh speaker and would love the opportunity to join a Welsh speaking community due to the lack of opportunities for Welsh communication where I live currently. I am also passionate about educating myself further to help my career and am in the process of booking onto a DIY AI course with my local farm vets, whose courses and workshops I regularly attend to keep my knowledge of current practices and recommendations up to date.
My main passion within dairy is calf rearing as I enjoy watching heifers enter the herd at a high standard knowing that their care in early life is the reason behind their success. I am attentive to calves needs and enjoy collecting data to monitor their performance (growth rates, sickness rates etc) to ensure they are healthy and that the business is performing well economically.
I would like to properly begin a full time career in dairy and develop the skills university has equipped me with such as: farm business management, soil and grassland management, livestock nutrition and animal health and welfare.
