I grew up rearing and caring for a small heard of sheep with my family. Starting with 2 stock lambs during lockdown working up to a heard of 35 with mixed breeds mainly Suffolk and Romney and a couple Valey black nose.I was then offered a job calf rearing on Heaslands farm in 2022 up until the end of 2023. During this time I developed confidence in rearing and medicating calves (Freisan and Angus). Also, during my time on Heaslands farm I learned and built up skills in general heard management such as feeding, drying off and some foot trimming. In July 2024 I started working on sharps farm at the Sutton hall estate. Here i was mainly calf rearing a mixed number of breeds but mainly herefordshire and fresians. Here I grew confident in completing tasks by myself and being able to understand behaviours of the calves to recognise illness. Also on sharps farm I did some work with sheep mainly working alongside the Shepherdess doing fencing, vaccinations and foot trimming. I was at sharps alongside studying at plumpton college, during my time at plumpton I was able to build my skills on the theory side of livestock management. Subject such as anatomy, medicine and diagnosis of disease of illness. Also being able to take my theory into practical. Towards the end of my time at plumpton collage (February 2026)I started working on Gote farm milking the 150 cow heard. After a couple days training I then started working by myself building more skill to working on a job alone. Here I have developed my skills in identifying and treating mastitis.
