June 2024 to August 2025 worked on a mixed organic farm near Bourton on the Water for my college placement. This was a mix of arable land growing spring barley, a herd of around 70 dairy cattle from which we had dairy replacements and beef calves. As well as around 150 ewes. I was responsible for the daily feeding of all cattle and reporting back any changes in the herd. I was also responsible for the checking and repair of fences both electric and wooden, ensuring equipment was clean and disinfected as necessary.
My interests have always been in outdoor and active careers. I have thoroughly enjoyed my college course which has conformed to me that this is definitely the career path I wish to follow. I am now looking to consolidate the knowledge and skills I have developed over the past 3 years, whilst gaining hands on practical experience and skills. I have a particular interest in disease, treatment and nutritional aspects of livestock.
