I come from a non farming background and want to grow my knowledge in the industry. I have done 5 months of work placement on weekends on a mixed dairy estate in Winchester where I would assist with milking, prepping cattle groups for milking and cleaning the cattle beds. I also assisted with a month of corn carting during 2025 harvest on the same estate in Winchester. I had to ensure safety and maintenance of my vehicle while also working long hours. I also have experience with working on a beef farm part time where I would do regular checks on cattle and assist with vaccinating and tagging on cattle. I would help create the cows TMR feed and feed it out accurately to the cows, along side this I would also bed the cow pens up daily with fresh straw using a straw blower.
