Other equipment experience

I have operated a range of machinery to support both livestock operations and field preparation. I have worked with the feeder wagon, ensuring

efficient and consistent delivery of mixed rations across pens while adjusting quantities to meet the herds needs. I am also responsible for managing the loading and application of slurry, adhering to nutrient management guidelines and ensuring safe, even field coverage. Additionally, I have carried out mowing and rolling operations to maintain pasture quality and prepare fields for silage and grazing. My role also involves trailer work, including hauling bales from the fields to the yard, ensuring safe transport, and carefully stacking them in storage. I also operate silage trailers during harvest, coordinating with forage harvesters to

maintain workflow and minimise downtime. I am fully licensed for cattle hauling and telehandler operations. I ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard, promptly addressing any mechanical issues to avoid disruptions to daily work.

Other livestock experience

Cattle - I am actively involved in the daily management of the herd, with a strong focus on animal welfare, productivity, and seasonal needs. I take part in twice-daily milking, monitor cow health, and support the planning and implementation of a rotational grazing system alongside the farm manager. I assist with both temporary and permanent fencing and play an active role in spring and autumn calving, including monitoring, assisting when needed, and recording new stock. I help rear young stock by managing feeding, bedding, health checks, and vaccinations, always ensuring a clean and safe environment. I also carry out regular welfare checks and work closely with vets to maintain high standards of care.

Pig - In this role, I focused on maintaining high standards of animal welfare, ensuring clean pig pens and constant access to feed and water. I assisted with artificial insemination and supported sows and piglets in the farrowing houses, monitoring health and addressing issues promptly. I worked to minimise stress and ensure all animals were treated with care. During the summer, I also helped with harvest duties, operating tractors and a telehandler while continuing to prioritise animal welfare.
