I began my Farming career at a very young age on the family farm, I was amongst the cows as soon as I was able to walk and began helping with the milking aged 8.

After leaving school I went home to the family farm and took over managing one of two 120 cow dairies, alongside that I was involved with the 500 head of beef and field operations, during silage making I was responsible for clamping around 1000 acres grass and 200 acres of Maize with a Telehandler.

Joined a large-scale agricultural business. Gained further dairy herd experience managing a pedigree herd of 120 cows.

Re-joined the family business on a temporary basis. Responsibilities as above.

[1997 - 2000] Dairy Herd Manager (Herringbone parlour 24/24) Took over running of two amalgamated herds totalling 300.Trained for DIY AI and attended the Unigate Superior Stockmanship Course.

365-day contract running 180 cow pedigree herd. (Herringbone parlour 10/20)

[July 2001 July 2006] Self Employed Tenant Farmer (Herringbone parlour 20/20)

Started with100 cow herd eventually building up to 300. Managing own business with two employees.

[July 2006-Sept 2006] Relief Herd Manager LKL (Herringbone parlour 16/16) College Farm.

Manage herd of 330 cows and young stock in addition to the day to day running of the unit and staff.

[ February 2012 March 2018 Dairy Farm Manager LKL(Herringbone parlour 24/24)

Manage Dairy Farm, 300 cows on an M&S contract, including budgets, feed contracts, contractors, farm visitors, staffing, etc.

[ April 2018-October 2019]

Milking and general farm work (self-employed)

(November 2019-Sept 2022) Farm Manager. (Herringbone parlour 30/30)

Management of 450 cow Holstein Dairy Farm with youngstock, including banking, budgeting, staff management etc. Preparing entire dispersal of livestock and machinery and the ultimate sale of the farm for the executors following the owner's death in February 2022. The farm eventually sold in September 2022.

Management of 1200 cow unit in Scotland, including staff, footcare and part of the in-house AI team.

(June 2025-December 2025) LKL relief Herd Manager 230 cows. (Herringbone parlour 12/24)

(January 2026- Present). LKL relief Dairy Manager 900 cows (50 point rotary)

I have managed a variety of different herd sizes and systems and pride myself on my work ethic and ability to calmly deal with problems as they inevitably happen with any livestock enterprise.

When given autonomy I thrive and am happy to be judged on my results and take full responsibility for my decisions.
