Hi there, Im a 25 year old lad whos a quick learner and a real hard worker whos not afraid to work long hours. I have a full uk drivers license and looking to relocate for the right job with my partner n daughter. Will take as many hours as I can get, but will need accommodation as looking for it tied into my salary as similar to my current position.
I'm currently working at a farm in Dumfries and Galloway and my position is the main tractor man, my daily jobs consist of feeding up first thing, (tmr) using the mixer wagon and tractor to mix up the feed n minerals and put it out for the cows. I also take care of making sure everywhere is cleaned out and bedded up fresh again after and I also need to feed my young stock and keep a close eye on the progression of the calves while they grow and make sure they arent catching any illnesss. Like pneumonia and ring worm ect
I need to take right good car win my job and make sure I get the mixes dead on and fired out on time to prevent cows getting sick from milk fever after calving down. I also have other responsibilities to make sure that my machinery is kept immaculate inside and out and greased and serviced regularly, I make sure to check the oil levels most morning before firing up. I treat equipment like I would my own.
Id like to think of myself as being quite multi skilled. With being brought up on farms Im good with machinery/sheep/ cattle(beef and dairy)
so I am just looking for a full time position living on site as either a tractor man, Id prefer to get a role down south where its a bit more constant and I can get plenty of hours doing what I love most.
Would happily haul for an ad plant but would need accommodation.
a/i qualified and NPORS ticket for tractor on site.
I do have a family which i would need accommodation for if i was relocating for the right full time position. There is myself, my partner, our girl and our little dog. I just want to give my family the best life possible. Which i find is growing up in the country, like myself, my father was a shepherd and that's where i got my experience and interest in farming.
In my free time I like to keep busy and I tend to go to the gym a couple nights a week when and if I can but I always put work first.
I do think I am a really good candidate to employ because I am always reliable and always make sure Im at work on time or 10 minutes before. I alway focus and put my best effort into my work especially if its something I enjoy doing like machinery operating ect
The old place I use to work at was a dairy unit where I usually start at 4am every morning and finish around 7pm at night. Day to day duties usually include milking, calving cows if they are having trouble, then feeding up, working with cattle, spreading dung/slurry, scraping out feeding calves, cleaning out shed with the handler ect but now that it is coming into spring and summer ahead I would ideally like to get myself onto an arable farm where I live on site and can get as many hour as possible doing a job I really enjoy with new style machinery.
I also have my forklift ticket and also experienced in using modern machinery and equipment such as jcb handlers, John Deere tractors and other tractors, I can bale I can plough I can rake, ted, mow, spread muck n slurry, I am good with a tractor and trailer for carting ect Im good at stacking bales and cleaning out sheds. Iv briefly done some fertiliser spreading and umbilical spreading
I will also keep good maintenance of machinery and equipment. Greased up and clean ect
Iv plenty of experience with working with livestock and can usually tell when an animal isnt just right. Id like to think that Im really good when it comes to treating animals when sick and twinning on lambs or lambing ewes or calving cows that are having trouble just from experience over time. Ever since a young boy on my school easter holidays I use to go away working as either a lambing or calving assistant.
