June 2023 - October 2023: Herdsperson undertaking milking shifts and stockman duties as part of a large team. We milked 1500 cows through 2 24:48 swingover parlours, each milking took 5 hours. I also assisted with: TB testing, milk recording, pregnancy scanning, worming, fly pouring, youngstock rearing etc.
2018 - 2024: relief milking and stockman duties; milking 140 Friesians through a small 7 a side parlour. I also assisted with other jobs around the farm such as: TB testing, milk recording, youngstock rearing, collecting and grading chicken eggs. Throughout my time here, I undertook basic machinery operations, such as using a scraper tractor for mucking out, a telehandler for moving bales and a quad for bringing in and safely moving cattle.
