Experienced in the safe operation of farm vehicles and machinery for livestock and general farm work. Regular use of ATVs/UTVs, trailers and towing. Lantra-certified Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler, including bale handling and use of a bale unwinder for winter feeding. Some experience operating older tractors for yard work, bedding and routine tasks, and keen to further develop fieldwork skills. I'm confident in my ability to learn how to use new machinery and equipment.
I have hands-on experience working with a range of livestock within a mixed farming system.
Cattle: I have worked with Aberdeen Angus and Shorthorn cattle within a breeding system. My experience includes daily feeding, bedding, moving and handling cattle, monitoring health and condition, and supporting the overall management of the herd. I have assisted with TB testing procedures and administered routine treatments such as fluke dosing and cattle boluses. I have also been involved in drafting and preparing finished animals for slaughter. Alongside this, I have been involved in mob/strip grazing systems, setting up electric fencing, moving cattle regularly and helping manage grazing to make the best use of grass.
Sheep: I have worked with mixed Easycare store sheep, carrying out routine husbandry tasks including feeding, health monitoring and general care. I have experience identifying and treating common issues such as fly strike, alongside general parasite control, and have also supported grazing through regular moves within a strip grazing system.
Pigs: I have experience working with heritage breed pigs in outdoor, pasture-based systems, including feeding, paddock management and moving pigs as required to maintain ground condition and welfare, alongside monitoring their health and overall condition.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my family. We enjoy getting outdoors, going for walks, exploring the countryside, and spending time together at home. I also enjoy cooking, working on practical projects, and staying active.

Before moving into farming, I worked for myself, managing my own operations, which gave me a strong sense of responsibility and a practical, get-things-done attitude. I was used to organising workloads, solving problems and making sure things were done properly, day in day out.
I made a conscious effort to get into agriculture, volunteering on farms and completing a new entrants programme to build my knowledge and understanding of the industry.
Since then, Ive been working as a stockman on a large-scale mixed unit, where Ive taken on a high level of responsibility and often work independently within a dynamic system with stock moving regularly.
A large part of my role has involved working with livestock across the farm, including cattle and sheep, where Ive been responsible for daily care, health monitoring and grazing. Ive worked with out-wintered cattle through bale grazing, managed housed stock, and moved outdoor cattle regularly as part of a mob/strip grazing system. I am currently preparing to gain hands-on experience during the upcoming calving period and am keen to build my confidence and skills in this area.
Ive also gained extensive experience working with pigs, including farrowing, early life care and managing groups through the system. While this has been a significant part of my role, Im particularly keen to continue developing my skills with cattle and progressing further within that area.
Alongside livestock work, Ive been involved in feed management, organising and mixing rations using homegrown cereals, and working alongside the arable operator to utilise grazing ahead of field preparation and drilling. I also take responsibility for keeping machinery in good working order and maintaining a tidy, well-run yard.
