My formative years were spent on an Estate on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire borders
where, under the guidance of my father, Thoroughbred Bloodstock Manager on the estate, I learned, from an
early age, the importance of estate and paddock management.
In pursuit of a lasting and rewarding qualification within the equine industry, in 1998 I joined HM Armed
Forces as a Farriery Apprentice. I qualified as a professional farrier in 2001 where I continued to develop,
both professionally and personally, to become a Farrier Instructor at the Army School of Farriery. Despite
leaving the Armed forces in 2005, I continue to operate a small but dedicated farriery business to this day.
In addition to my farriery experience, I have always sought to maintain my interests in the wider
agricultural and rural industries and have been actively involved in seasonal agricultural work, most
recently being employed as a Stockman on a 250 head Beef Stock Farm.
