Currently employed as a Stockperson / Consultant from 1st April to 31st May 2025, for C*****Estate. Which involves calving, lambing, the well-being of the stock, general farm work, and suggest improvements overall. Perversely employed as a Stockman / General farm worker, which involves the calving and the well-being of the stock as well as general farm work. Own small flock of North country Cheviots and blackfaces as show sheep, on ground that is leased. I am proud to say that my Cheviot Tup has been champion at the Nairn show this year, being 2024 and 2nd at Caithness, Black Isle, Grantown and the Keith show. I am passionate about livestock and have been from a young age. Born and brought up on a croft in Shinness called Blairbuie. Worked on the family croft after school and other crofts when needed. This included being employed at Dalchork from the age of fourteen.
In May 1984 I worked doing general Shepherding and farm work at A*********Estate, then at E******Estate from April 1985 to October 1990. While attending Thurso Technical College doing my Eleven Scotvec certificates in agriculture. In October 1990 I was employed to set up and manage a sheep dairy at Arusund (Denmark), I was referred by Right Honourable Allan Clark for this position. On my return to Scotland, I was employed at Grampian Country Chickens, in July 1993 I moved to Ian Rennie Agriculture.
