Other livestock experience

I have not had much experience with livestock, but in my first farming job, the farm where i was based had a sheep enterprise of roughly about 400 ewes, these mostly consisted of Suffolk crosses. I assisted in many sheep duties & this included foot bathing, shearing, scanning the ewes for lambs & tagging, all sheep got rounded up out of the field & went through a sheep handling system. When required i also assisted with the lambing season & took part in lambing some sheep myself, also was tasked with mucking out pens, bedding up & preparing the feed using a mixer & delivering either in the yard or in the field, the feed was generally was a mixture of grains & pellets, but also hay was used as well. During a 1 year course at Bishop Burton College, i would generally help out my grandfather out on his small holding which contained bed & breakfast pigs, i assisted with feeding up mainly by an automatic feeding system, but also with 25kg bags, bedding up with Straw & mucking out.
