Other equipment experience

over the years i have picked up experience on a variety of different machines and vehichles, my best mate in devon had a Fendt 724 vario, the main tractor i operated was a Case maxxum 145, I was taught the basics of tram lines and operating a tractor, ploughing, spraying fert, spreading slurry and moving bails. due to me moving with family i didn't carry on working with him on the farm so didn't have the opportunity to progress more and learn more about farming. i have always wanted to pursue a career in farming and agriculture as its something that i have always had a huge interest in along with the outdoors. Driving tractors is a huge interest of mine and love all aspects of it, I'm a very efficient learner and can turn my hand to anything. Im good with mechanics and bring a good set of tools with me.

I recently came off a 2500 acre arable farm where I have been using a John Deere 6130 and Massey Ferguson 6480 machines using green star gps and Trimble.

Other livestock experience

A lot of my close friends and family Run/work on farms across Devon and Cornwall, I have in the past been heavily involved with tasks such as Lambing, delivering haylage to neighbouring farms, spreading on fields and transporting lambs to and from Bodmin market.

i worked very closely alongside my best mate within lambing season and helped with birthing some sheep who were having difficulties. ive herded sheep on a quad alongside bens sheep dog, i helped with various jobs patching up and fixing fencing on the outskirts of the fields as they used to escape regularly.

Livestock and or dairy farming is something Ive always wanted to pursue but never had the opportunity, I feel I could turn my hand to anything , and if you were willing to train me to become the herd manager you are looking for I feel very quickly after transferring my non farming management skills and what I have learnt on a farm I could become an asset to the farm.

Farming background

Being originally from cornwall farming has always been a big part of my life. From a young age I helped friends and family on their local farms, gaining early experience in livestock care and general farm work. Over the years, this gave me the chance to develop practical knowledge in day-to-day operations, animal handling, and the importance of hard work in a farming environment.

Alongside livestock work, I have also built strong skills operating a wide range of machinery, most recently while working on a 2,500-acre arable farm. This experience gave me valuable insight into large-scale farm operations, crop management, and machinery maintenance, while strengthening my ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

While I have enjoyed all aspects of farming, the career I truly want to pursue is within arable It is where I feel most motivated, and I believe my background, combined with my willingness to learn and adapt, makes me well-suited to the challenges and rewards of livestock farming. I am eager to continue developing my skills, contribute to the success of the farm, and build a long-term career in this field.
