At my families smallholding we have a small hay business where I cut the grass for hay and use a haybob to turn and row up the hay, I also have trailer pulling experience with both tractors and cars I gained this while while on my harvest job carting wheat, carting silt last year on a summer job and taking hay off the fields at home. While at college I gained my PA1, PA2 and my NPTC Telehandler licence, i have experience driving forklifts on the road and around farms using a variety of implements. My family does local fencing and i can use tractor mounted post knocker. I can also use a mini digger and Dumper truck.
I have worked on a dairy unit assisting their herd manager while there my duties involved helping with afternoon milking, bedding up the cattle, mixing up the minerals for feed and feeding and bedding up the calves. At college we had beef were the students were responsible for weighing the cattle, helping clean the cattle and minor repairs on the bar. The college also has pigs and sheep, the students would clean out the sows ready to be serviced, finishers and growers. I have also worked on a 200 acre sheep farm where i helped with lambing, day to day care and dealing with orphan lambs.
