I have worked with a range of stock since a young age, specialising in sheep and beef cattle. I am a highly experienced shepherd having run large numbers of breeding ewes. I have managed up to 7,500 breeding ewes at one time I am also experienced with smaller flocks as well as both indoor and outdoor lambing. My dogs and I can happily handle large mobs of sheep (4,000+) and do any form of task with them, or we can handle small groups of just a few. I am experienced in all aspects of beef and dairy cattle especially outdoor/grazing based aspects (worked on a 2,800 head beef grazing unit outside Shepton Mallet) including electric fencing, paddock and rotational grazing, sward management etc, as well as calving and calf rearing. My dogs are also able to work cattle if needed. I am very interested in and pleased to be able to carry out post mortems on sheep and am highly experienced in the medical side of sheep or beef. Particularly around lambing time

From a young age I have always been keen to work, gaining my first job from the age of 12 milking goats and looking after the farm's sheep and other animals. I have a good amount of experience in the dairy industry, both with the milking side/calf rearing as well as the tractor/machinery side. I am good at handling cattle, both beef dairy and youngstock. I have a wide range or experience within the sheep sector after having been a shepherd for a number of years, I have two trained sheepdogs, my own quad bike and my own truck. I am able to perform and carry out tasks independently and I am able to make and apply flock/herd management decisions.
